Harvest Festival
Many thanks to those who joined us for our Harvest Festival. We hope you enjoyed the service.
Thank you also for all your generous gifts which will be given to the Christian Family Care in
Harvest Concert for Senior Citizens
The above concert will take place on Tuesday October 20th. All senior citizens are welcome to attend. Please let the school office know if a senior citizen is joining us. We are in need of cakes for this occasion and would welcome any donations.
Book Week and PTA Second Hand Uniform
Our Book Week begins on Wednesday when the books arrive in school. They will then be on sale on Thursday, Friday and the following Monday after school at 3.30. The PTA will also be having a second hand uniform sale on the evenings of the Book Week.
Parent Support Assistants
The NBST has now one Parent Support Officer, Elaina Arneaud, to support parents within the North Bedfordshire Schools Trust. She can be contacted on 0788 176 4584, 01234 782211 or earneaud@sharnbrook.beds.sch.uk. Her main role will be as follows:
Parenting support & information
- Early intervention
- Signposting to relevant services
- Run discussion groups and courses for Parents and Carers
- Provide support with parenting issues
- Provide initial and/or crisis support to Parents and Carers
- Help with the Common Assessment Framework (CAF) process
Parental engagement with their child’s learning
- Provide a link between home and school
- Transition
- Support Parents/Carers in meetings
- Attend consultation evenings
- Attend new intake evenings
- Attend other school events
School attendance and inclusion
- Work with Parents/Carers to improve attendance
- Meet/liaise with school staff
General
- Meet and greet at school gate
- Meet families new to the area
- Coffee mornings/drop-ins
- Provide general support and information
Arriving at school 8.45
Please could we remind parents that children must not be left in the classroom before 8.45am. Staff are making preparations for the day ahead and may not be present in the classroom until this time. If you arrive before 8.45am please wait with your child/children in the playground. Thank you.
Safeguarding Children
I mentioned in July about babies and toddlers being left in cars while parents collect their children. I understand the difficulties but keeping children safe is a key priority at present. As a school, and as parents and carers, we need to make sure our children are looked after responsibly. Please do not leave younger ones in cars, whether the car is parked on
